Remember way back when we went to war in a blaze of shock and awe to defend ourselves from those weapons of mass destruction?
The weapons didn’t exist. But the wealth we squandered trying to destroy them did.
Do you remember who got us into that little Iraqi dust-up?
Well now, recent projections conclude that we could be paying off the post-9/11 war debt to the tune of some $8 trillion. Even by my poor figurin', that's a lot.
And, the Congressional Budget Office says the GOP tax plan would add $1.7 trillion to the national debt over the next decade. This is from the people who traditionally claim that the Democrats foolishly spend too much, racking up too much national debt.
Don’t you agree that it’s time to reconsider our priorities?
About now, a change of direction just might be a wise move.
