Walk His Path

"A new religious statue in the town of Davidson, N.C., is unlike anything you might see in church."
"The statue depicts Jesus as a vagrant sleeping on a park bench. St. Alban's Episcopal Church installed the homeless Jesus statue on its property in the middle of an upscale neighborhood filled with well-kept townhomes."
"Jesus is huddled under a blanket with his face and hands obscured; only the crucifixion wounds on his uncovered feet give him away."
"The reaction was immediate. Some loved it; some didn't."

Medical Mistakes 3rd Leading Cause of Death in U.S.A.

How Many Die From Medical Mistakes in U.S. Hospitals?
by Marshall Allen, ProPublica, 19 Sept 2013

A recent study published by the Journal of Patient Safety says the number of deaths resulting from medical mistakes in U.S. hospitals may be between 210,000 and 440,000 patients each year.

“That would make medical errors the third-leading cause of death in America, behind heart disease, which is the first, and cancer, which is second.”
Go here for the rest of the story...

One wonders, what happens to this comparison if the "medical mistakes" category were expanded to include "nursing homes" and other extended care institutions? I will bet that the "medical mistakes" category will move up on the list of leading causes of death in the U.S.
