Global Corps Leave Out Public Investment and Worker Fair Value

The recent Super Bowl ad placed by the Canadian autoworkers union, Unifor, is right on.

Still, I'd add only one thought more.

It's not only GM that is leaving workers out in the cold. Every global corporation is playing the "Greed Card" at the expense of not only employees but all tax-paying citizens, too.

People the world over have more in common with each other than with their leaders, their nations and the global corporations. Until we all realize that fact we will always be on the very poor side of the wealth curve chart.

Oh, by the way. Those manufacturing jobs are now in the "Low Cost Countries" for at least one reason... low wages. We know for certain it's not because global corporations suddenly experienced an Epiphany On the Road to Damascus to fairly value their workers using a formula that includes corporate profits and public investment (e.g. tax abatements) as well as out-of-this-world senior management compensation*.

GM Leaves Canadians Out in the Cold

When General Motors needed help, we gave them $ 300 from every single Canadian, amounting to a nearly $ 11 billion bailout. While making record profits, Greedy Motors wants to close its top-quality Oshawa plant, throwing thousands out of work. At the same time, GM is expanding in Mexico to take further advantage of low pay and a lack of human and labour rights. Pledge to #BoycottMexicoGM at www.saveoshawagm.ca
