Knowin' Somethin'

Join me now in my WABAC machine* to the summer of 1971.

My U.S. Army basic training experience began on 10 June at Fort Polk, Louisiana. And, this I can say about it: each time I flubbed up, my drill sergeant instantly made clear – directly into my face – that I had just stepped on my d**k and must face the ground, generate 50 push ups and run about a quarter mile or so with much haste.

Now, if it were 1971 and Sec. DeVos were a man, my drill sergeant would let her know that she was steppn’ on her d**k, too, for all the dumbass things she says and all the stuff she doesn’t know about her job.

And, yes, her incompetence will get our students killed – the ones she is supposed to be helping – just like stupid mistakes get your Ft. Polk buddies killed when all those bullets start whizzin’ about.

You know, teachin’ kids is not a good job for stupid people. It really does help the students when the teacher knows somthin’ about teachin’. Plus, the "active shooter" problem we now face in our schools can not be solved by a "clueless" ignoramus.

Somebody -  named DeVos - needs a drill sergeant.

How Louis XVI Will Save America Again

Travel with me in Mr. Peabody’s WABAC machine to visit with Louis XVI, King of France, as he gives Ben Franklin a really cool snuffbox. At the time, Ben was our ambassador to France and everybody really liked him. They called him Dr. Franklin because he was smart, witty, fun, a bon vivant and a famous scientist.

Still, that cool snuffbox caused a kerfuffle back home with the Congress people debating whether or not it was O.K. for our person in France to accept it. Did it amount to “corruption and foreign influence”? That was a big question back then.

Because of that snuffbox, in 1786, Congress got around to adding what’s called the Emoluments Clause to the Constitution (Article I, Section 9) which “bars any ‘person holding any office of profit or trust under’ the United States from accepting any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Price, or foreign state’ ‘without the consent of the Congress.’ The word ‘emolument’ comes from the Latin emolumentum, meaning profit or gain.”*

Translation: all this emolument stuff means that Mr. Trump must “clean up his act” by somehow separating himself from his web of foreign entanglements, i.e. business interests, or be in violation of the Constitution and thereby subject to impeachment.

So, no more fillin’ up your hotel rooms with foreign dignitaries, Mr. President-Elect. It looks like you really must deal yourself out of your mega-winner businesses or lose the really big prize.

Once again, we owe the people of France and Louis XVI a major Thank You for savin’ our bacon!

It’s Electric!!

Sherman, Mr. Peabody and the WABAC machine
For the inaugural post in the Fresh Eyes series I’ve chosen a disruptive favorite: The Thunderbolts’ Project Electric Universe.

A couple of years ago, when I first looked into Thunderbolts I experienced a flashback. Suddenly I was taken back to my Akron, OH, Hyre Junior High School science class via Mr. Peabody’s WABAC Machine.

Mr. Maveredes, our outstanding teacher, was belittling one of my classmates. “Next time do you’re your homework or you’ll end up extinct just like the dumb dinosaurs,” he was saying. “They were so dumb that they all died out.”

Today, a current theory explaining the demise of the dinosaurs and a bunch of other creatures has nothing to do with their intelligence and more to do with stuff hitting the earth from somewhere out there.

My point is, thinking changes - even in science.

Please check out the video below. The thinking is different and makes a lot of sense, too. For more break though thinking, please visit the Movement’s http://brkthu.org/

"A recently published scientific paper is creating a firestorm of media coverage around the world. The paper’s lead author, Daniel Whitmire, proposes that the hypothesized Planet X, a never-discovered body believed by some to exist in the outer solar system, is responsible for mass extinctions on Earth approximately every 27 million years. Recently, researchers at Caltech have inferred Planet X’s presence from orbital anomalies in Kuiper Belt objects. Wal Thornhill discusses the tenability of these claims from an Electric Universe perspective."
