Don't Be Raw Meat for the Trumpists

This past weekend and today, Mr. Trump once again played his famous misdirection trick.

This time it’s:

“Looky here at what Congresswoman Omar said about terrorists and 9/11”... which he took out of context and mixed in with some 9/11 video... and then offered up, like so much raw meat, to his famished supporters and the media, so they wouldn’t notice that he was trying to end overtime pay for low-earning Americans and cut billions from Social Security and Medicare.

If you are a Trump supporter, you best watch what your man is doing with his other hand when he tosses you that raw meat. If you're not a Trumpist, then don't let Trump make you his raw meat treat. You earned that overtime and your Social Security and Medicare, too.

The Progressive Hidden in Trump Attire

Mr. Trump is really a closet Progressive.

Yes, really.

Please give the idea a moment of thought.

By doing everything possible to make life miserable for the 99.9% he will become the catalyst for change for the better right now. In the past, natural rights, human rights required centuries to become woven into our Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Now, within only a few days Mr. Trump has turned the spotlight on those rights we all have taken for granted and then crushed them under foot.

Even his supporters will at some point develop “eyes that see and ears that hear”.

Meaning, even his most ardent Caucasian-American supports will soon be able to comprehend the terrible Trump fact that Mr. Trump is not really their man.*

For instance, even Mr.-Mrs.-Ms.-Make-America-Great-Again will at some point require Social Security, Medicare and affordable medigap insurance to buy food and cover bankrupting medical costs.**

Therefore at some point in Mr. Trump’s time in office, Mr.-Mrs.-Ms.-Make-America-Great-Again will develop the brain altering affliction: Eyes that See and Ears that Hear.

That is the moment when we will revisit the America of our parents and grandparents and then improve and enhance our nation for ourselves and our grandchildren.

* Assuming we are not first incinerated in a nuclear holocaust brought on by a Trump miscalculation or temperamental hissy fit.

Just Guessing What's Next

What's next on the EOP (Evil Old Party) agenda now that the Pipeline is temporarily halted? I'm guessing our meager security net is on deck. No time to fritter away… especially if the Supreme Court dumps Obamacare... they just got to knock ‘em all down while they can!

Today, Do What Matters Most

Here’s a novel idea. What if you knew for certain that you had little time left on this earth? What would you do with the days, assuming you’d be granted them?

Recently, after overcoming my negative attitude (or, more likely, months of procrastination) I finally visited one of the U.S. government’s old people websites — you know — Social Security and Medicare.

I’ll skip my: “Who Me? I’m Not Old” diatribe and present my point.

I discovered this “app” on Social Security Online http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/population/longevity.html and entered my gender and birth date. The resulting number brought me back to reality. On average, people of my age and gender have about 20.2 years remaining on this earth.

That’s 20.2 years, barring the world ending or a catastrophic event of some type or another does not intervene. 20.2 years?

Yes.

Why should I be surprised? In the days of youth, due to intervening national agenda items, like the draft and the Vietnam War, I actually did not believe I’d see my 26th birthday. A few of my high school friends didn’t. Most of the guys in my basic training company were sent to a few weeks of infantry training and then to Vietnam as replacements, right from Fort Polk, LA.

I followed up a few years later and learned most didn’t come home, either —including the drill instructors, too. They already had earned their Combat Infantry badges, but “The Man” wasn’t satisfied and wanted their lives, too.

That was a long time ago.

Back then I decided to concentrate on the things that were in my power to “control”.

The difference between now and then is: today I accept the fact of life that my time here is not unlimited and I may not have another day.

I intend to use every second doing what is most important.
